titleOfInvention ALGINATE BEADS CONTAINING LIVING CELLS AND PROCESS FOR OBTAINING SAME
abstract The method comprises preparing 10, 12, 14 a suspension of sodium alginate in a culture medium suitable for the cultivation of alveolar macrophages; in preparing 16, 18, 20, 22 a suspension of alveolar macrophages AM, having previously phagocytosed respirable particles, in a solution containing the culture medium and the fetal calf serum; mixing the alginate suspension and the cell suspension; extruding 26 the mixture to form droplets; in gelating these droplets in a gelling medium containing culture medium, fetal calf serum and calcium chloride then dispersing the alginate beads obtained in a culture medium supplemented with fetal calf serum and calcium chloride . The alginate beads obtained are used to study the dissolution of particles by alveolar macrophages.
