abstract The invention relates to organic synthesis. It relates to a process for preparing a lysophosphatidic acid or a salt thereof a. by reacting, under anhydrous conditions, at least one monoglyceride with POCI3 in an inert solvent immiscible with water so as to form a solution of an intermediate compound, b. by hydrolysis of this intermediate using a dilute basic solution so as to form an aqueous phase and an organic phase, c. by separation of these two phases, and d. to collect, by precipitation from the aqueous phase, lysophosphatidic acid or a salt thereof. Applications as emulsifiers, synthetic intermediates, etc.
