MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME |
abstract |
The present invention provides monoclonal antibodies useful for diagnosing and treating cancers of the ovaries, lungs or liver. To produce these antibodies, an animal is successively immunized with two antigens, one derived from undifferentiated human cells and the other from tumor cells. The antibody producing cells are then isolated from the animal, and fused with myeloma cells, resulting in hybridomas from which those which produce the desired antibodies are selected. The selected hybridomas are cloned and the antibodies they produce are recovered. |
