abstract |
The invention relates to the manufacture of nuclear fuel pellets which can be used in particular in nuclear water reactors. This process consists in subjecting to pelletizing followed by sintering a load of UO2 and PuO2 powders consisting of particles having particle sizes less than or equal to 250 mum which is prepared as follows: dosage of a first mixture of powders followed grinding, then dosing of a second mixture of powders by addition of UO2 and possibly recycling powders, followed by grinding for a limited time and, by sieving through a sieve having openings of smaller dimensions or equal to 250 mum. The successive realization of the two grindings and of the sieving makes it possible to obtain a powder which can be directly subjected to pelletizing without an intermediate granulation step. |
