abstract The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a food supplement for animals. According to the invention, this process consists in grinding a homogeneous mixture based on at least one mineral element into a fine powder, in preparing a liquid mixture, preferably viscous, from water and a sweetening material, in introduce the powder into a circular rotary plate 11 with retaining rim 16 and inclined relative to the horizontal, to form a layer of powder in the current lower part of the bottom of the plate, and to spray preferably the liquid mixture at above the layer formed at the bottom of the rotating plate, so as to form approximately spherical elements constituting the food supplement. The invention finds application in particular in the self-service feeding of ruminants intended for milk production.
