A process for the production of substantially anhydrous alcohol having at least 2 carbon atoms. An aqueous solution of this alcohol is distilled C1 and the distillate obtained 3 subjected to extraction C2 with a hydrocarbon 8. The extract 9 is distilled C3 C4 and the dehydrated alcohol is obtained 16. Heating the column C3 and optionally of column C4 is obtained by condensing R1 and R2 of the vapors from column C1. Application to the production of fuel ethanol. |
