Process for regenerating a mass for capturing mercury containing a solid support or dispersant and copper at least partly in the sulphide state in which, in a first step, said mass, having at least partially lost its efficiency for capturing mercury , is freed at least in part of the mercury that it contains, in a second step the mass resulting from the first step is brought into contact with a sulphurizing agent so as to at least partially incorporate said agent into said capture mass, said sulfurizing agent being an organic polysulfide, and, in a third step, the mass resulting from the second step is subjected to a heat treatment, in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, under gas flushing, at a temperature and for a time sufficient to allow the formation of sulphide of the metal (s) present. |
