IT IS CHARACTERIZED IN THAT A SOLUTION CONTAINING PENTAVALENT AND TETRAVALENT VANADIUM IONS IS ELECTROLYTICALLY REDUCED IN A CELL WHERE CATHOLYTE AND ANOLYTE ARE SEPARATED BY ANIONIC MEMBRANE AND THAT ELECTROLYSIS IS CONTINUED UNTIL THAT THE POTENTIAL OF A PLATINUM ELECTRODE IMMERSING IN THE SOLUTION COMPARED TO A CALOMEL ELECTRODE IS BETWEEN 100 AND -200 MV. THIS PROCESS FINDS ITS APPLICATION IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CATALYSTS DIRECTLY USED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CERTAIN ELASTOMERS. |
