abstract |
The invention relates to a method for concentrating a surfactant in an aqueous solution. The method consists in adding to the solution 1 a component incompatible with the surfactant, for example a water-soluble polymer 2, so as to displace the surfactant from the aqueous phase of the solution. The component remains in the aqueous phase and the surfactant passes into a phase rich in surfactant. This phase can then be separated from the aqueous phase by conventional separation devices or techniques. This process applies in particular to the concentration of a surfactant recovered from a deposit following an improved process for recovering oil using this surfactant.
