A process for producing gasoline is disclosed comprising oligomerizing a mixture of 2-6 carbon alkenes (optionally in the presence of alkanes) over silicalite (stabilized or not) or over a zeolite, optionally. in the presence of water, then the etherification of the oligomerization effluent by passing it with methanol over an acid cation exchange catalyst.
