Method and device for forming a pyrolytic coating on a substrate 1 (sheet or ribbon) of hot glass which moves under a treatment chamber 6 open downwards. The gaseous environment in the vicinity of the face of the substrate where the formation of the coating begins is controlled by a blanket of preheated gas which is introduced into the chamber 6 in the direction 3 of displacement of the substrate. The invention is particularly useful in the formation of oxide layers, e.g. ex. tin oxide. (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) |
