titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR OBTAINING VINYL COPOLYMERS OF A POLYHYDROXYL COMPOUND. |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for obtaining vinyl copolymers of a polyhydroxylated compound, said vinyl copolymers being formed by a mixture containing from 90 to 20% of acrylonitrile, 80 to 5% by weight of styrene and 70 to 30% by weight of methyl methacrylate, the polyhydroxylated compound in which the copolymerization occurs comprises a polyoxyalkylenated product whose number average molecular mass, determined by assay of the terminal reactive groups is between 2.10 ** 3 and 8.5.10 ** 3; said polyhydroxy compound constitutes a proportion of the terminal mixture which is between 95 and 60% by weight; moreover, the copolymerization is carried out under pressure in order to avoid polymerizations in the gas phase. The products obtained are transformed into flexible polyurethane foam by adding an isocyanate, catalysts and additives, and these foams exhibit excellent hardness properties without adversely affecting the flexibility properties. |
