abstract Plasma arc torch and its use underwater and above water. The torch 10, 12 comprises a device 22 creating an annular flow 54 of air radially inwards to obtain a cutting zone 56 under high pressure, without water, surrounding the plasma 16 and a radially external high speed flow 58 of liquid which stabilizes the flow 54. Zone 56 includes cutout 20 and the underside of part 16 near the plasma. This prevents the intrusion of water and prevents an accumulation of hydrogen gas under the part 16. Application: cutting thin sheets, with less noise and radiation. (CF DRAWING IN BOPI)
