THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A THIN SHEET OF TINNED AND NICKELEATED STEEL FOR WELDED TIN CANS. THE STEEL SHEET, CLEAN, IS SUBJECTED TO ANODIC TREATMENT IN AN ALKALINE ELECTROLYTE WITH A PH GREATER THAN 10, THEN AN ELECTROLYTIC DEPOSIT OF NICKEL, THEN AN ELECTROLYTIC DEPOSIT OF TIN, THEN MELTED AND COOLED QUICKLY, THEN TREATED WITH CHROMATE. MANY METAL TIN NODULES CAN BE SEEN BY AN ELECTRONIC MICROSCOPE ON AN IRON-TIN-NICKEL ALLOY LAYER. APPLICATION: MATERIAL FOR TIN CANS CLOSED BY WELDING. |
