VARIOUS DIAZOIC, TRIAZOLIC OR TETRAZOLIC COMPOUNDS MAY BE USED AS NON-METALLIC INITIAL EXPLOSIVES, ALTHOUGH DIAZODINITROPHENOL IS PREFERRED. THE COMBUSTION BY-PRODUCTS OF THE INVENTION DO NOT CONTAIN TOXIC LEAD, BARIUM OR MERCURY OXIDES. THE INVENTION THEREFORE OFFERS SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES FROM A SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POINT OF VIEW.
