THE OBJECT OF THE INVENTION IS THE MANUFACTURE OF ISOLATED DIASTEREOISOMERS RS, SR OR RS, RS OF 3-SUBSTITUTES OF 1-AMINO-2-HYDROXYPROPANE OF FORMULA: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) IN WHICH R IS AN ALCOXY GROUP IN CC OR TRIHALOGENOMETHYL. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, 1 THE TRANS-CINNAMIC ALCOHOL IS EPOXIDATED AND THE CORRESPONDING OXIRANNE OBTAINED WITH A PHENOL SUBSTITUTE IN 1,2-DIHYDROXY-3- (PHENOXY SUBSTITUE) -3-PHENYL-PROPANE, IV AND THEN, OR 2 (DIASTEROISOMER RS, SR), COMPOUND IV IS ESTERIFIED WITH SULPHONIC ACID, AND TREATMENT WITH AMMONIA OR 3 (DIASTEROISOMER RS, RS), COMPOUND IV IS ESTERIFIED WITH CARBOXYLIC ACID THEN WITH ACID SULPHONIC AND THE DIESTER OBTAINED IS TRANSFORMED INTO EPOXIDE WHICH IS REACTED WITH AMMONIA.
