THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF N-4- (3-AMINOPROPYL) AMINOBUTYL-2,2-DIHYDROXYETHANAMIDE. THE PROCESS CONSISTS OF PERFORMING THE SELECTIVE CLIVING OF THE APPROPRIATE CC LINK OF A COMPOUND OF GENERAL FORMULA: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) IN WHICH R REPRESENTS A HYDROXYL OR AMINO GROUP, BUT THE TWO R GROUPS CANNOT BE AT THE SAME TIME OF AMINO GROUPS, AND R REPRESENTS A HYDROGEN ATOM, AN ALKYL GROUP WHICH CAN BE SUBSTITUTED, A CARBOXYL GROUP, AN ALKOXYCARBONYL GROUP OR A CARBAMOYL GROUP WHICH CAN BE SUBSTITUTED.
