THE PRESENT INVENTION IN DETAILS CONCERNS A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING HYDRARGILLITE, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT IT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STEPS: A. ON REACT AN ALKALINE ALUMINATE WITH HYDROFLUORIC ACID AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 5 AND 95C, THE QUANTIATURE 'HYDROFLUORIC ACID USED BEING BETWEEN 25 AND 90 OF THE AMOUNT NECESSARY TO COMPLETELY NEUTRALIZE THE ALUMINATE ALKALINITY; B. THE HYDRARGILLITE PRECIPITE OBTAINED IS POSSIBLY MURIED FOR 12 TO 10 HOURS AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN 5 AND 95C; C. THEN FILTER, WASH AND DRY THE HYDRARGILLITE OBTAINED. THE HYDRARGILLITE OBTAINED CAN BE USED IN PARTICULAR AS A PRIMER IN THE MANUFACTURE OF VERY FINE ALUMINA HYDRATE BY DECOMPOSITIONS OF THE ALUMINATE LIQUORS FROM THE BAYER CIRCUIT OR AS A CHARGE.
