THE INVENTION CONCERNS A PROCESS FOR THE SURFACE TREATMENT OF A PART IN A METAL MATERIAL SUCH AS CAST IRON, ALUMINUM ALLOYS OR THE LIKE, WITH A VIEW TO FORMING A REFUSION TREATMENT LAYER ON ITS SURFACE. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, A PART MELTED 11 BY A PLASMA ARC 10 IS CREATED ON THE SURFACE OF THE PART 1 AND THEN THE MELTED PART IS SOLIDIFIED BY COOLING, BY INSERTING ALONG THE PLASMA ARC AN ADDING AGENT 12 CONSTITUTED BY A POWDER OF A METAL MATERIAL DIFFERENT FROM THAT OF THE PART OR OF ANY OTHER TYPE, IN MELTED PART 11 IN A FORCE MIXTURE THERE, THIS AGENT MAY BE A METAL SUCH AS NI, CR, MO OR ANALOGUE, ALLOYS SUCH AS METALS, CARBIDES SUCH AS WC, SIC, MOC, CRC, BC OR ANALOGUE, BORIDES SUCH AS BN, TIB OR ANALOGUE, SULPHIDES SUCH AS MOS, WS, FES OR THE LIKE, AND OXIDES SUCH AS ALO, SIO OR ANALOGUE. THE INVENTION PROVIDES AN IMPROVEMENT OF RESISTANCE TO ABRASION AND WEAR. |
