abstract | THE INVENTION CONCERNS NEW CARBOHYDRATE PRODUCTS, ANALOGUE OF SUGAR IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY. THESE PRODUCTS ARE CHARACTERIZED IN THAT THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY CONSTITUTED OF SACCHARIDIC ANHYDRIDES, THE MOLECULE OF WHICH CONSISTS OF TWO SACCHARIDIC CYCLES CONNECTED TO BETWEEN THEM BY TWO ACETALIC BONDS INCLUDED IN A DIOXANAL CYCLE. IN GENERAL, AT LEAST ONE OF THE SACCHARIDIC CYCLES IS THAT OF FRUCTOSE (POSSIBLY SUBSTITUTED) AND THIS IS CONNECTED TO THE DIOXAN CYCLE BY A SPIRANNIC BOND. THE TREATMENT OF SUGARS WITH A HYDROGEN HALOGENIDE, AND MORE PARTICULARLY BY HYDROGEN FLUORIDE, ALLOWS THEIR CALORIC POWER TO BE REDUCED, AND POSSIBLY TO INSULATE THE CARBOHYDRATE ANALOGUES ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING INVENTION OF NON-CALORIC CONSTITUENTS. |
