THE DEVICE IS CHARACTERIZED IN THAT IT INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE DETECTOR ELEMENT 2 CAPABLE OF DETECTING ALL THE NEUTRONS WHATEVER THEIR ORIGINS ISSUED BY SUCH WASTE, THIS DETECTOR ELEMENT BEING AVAILABLE SO THAT ANY POINT OF THE WASTE SEES THE DETECTOR ELEMENT, UNDER A SOLID TO PRACTICALLY CONSTANT ANGLE, AND A COUNTING SCALE 4 CONNECTED TO AN OUTPUT OF THE DETECTOR TO COUNT THE NEUTRONS RECEIVED THERE BY. APPLICATION TO THE MONITORING OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE, ESPECIALLY OF WASTE CONTAINING PLUTONIUM FROM THE FUEL OF A LIGHT WATER NUCLEAR REACTOR.
