THE INVENTION CONCERNS AIR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS. TO REDUCE THE INTEMPESTIVE WARNINGS THAT A GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM CAN PRODUCE, THE CRITERIA FOR THE GENERATION OF A WARNING IN CERTAIN AIRPORT ZONES IS CHANGED TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE LAND CONFIGURATION IN THESE ZONES. THE SYSTEM CONTROLS A NUMBER OF FLIGHT PARAMETERS PROVIDED BY A SOURCE OWNED TO THE AIRCRAFT TO DETERMINE IF THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A MODIFICATION ZONE. THE SYSTEM ALSO INCLUDES MEANS 54 WHICH VERIFY THAT THE CORRECTED BAROMETRIC ALTITUDE OF THE AIRCRAFT IS WITHIN ACCEPTABLE LIMITS. APPLICATION TO AERONAUTICS. |
