abstract The invention relates to an improved system, capable of being passed to the autoclave, for the packaging of an intraocular lens structure to be implanted in a human eye. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, IT INCLUDES AN EXTERNAL CONTAINER 21 HAVING AT LEAST TWO OPTICALLY TRANSPARENT WINDOWS 21A, 21B PARALLEL TO ONE ANOTHER, A MEANS 24 FOR RECEIVING AND SUPPORTING AN INTRA-OCULAR LENS STRUCTURE 23 MOUNTED IN THE EXTERNAL CONTAINER IN VISION ALIGNMENT WITH THE WINDOWS, AND A FLUID ENVIRONMENT IN THE CONTAINER IN ORDER TO FORM A STERILE ENVIRONMENT WHICH ALLOWS OPTICAL TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTICS SENSITIVELY EQUIVALENT TO THOSE OF THE LENS IN THE EYE. THE INVENTION APPLIES IN PARTICULAR TO OPHTHALMIA.
