THE INVENTION RELATES TO AN ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE BATTERY AND AN ANODE FOR THIS BATTERY. THE PULSE OPERATION AND THE PERFORMANCE OF LITHIUM AND ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE GALVANIC CELLS ARE IMPROVED BY PROVIDING THE LITHIUM ANODE WITH A SURFACE LAYER OF LITHIUM-ALUMINUM-MAGNESIUM ALLOY ON THE FACE ADJACENT TO THE SEPARATOR. THE ANODE CAN BE FORMED FROM LITHIUM LAMINATED WITH AN ALUMINUM-MAGNESIUM ALLOY SHEET WHICH REACTS TO FORM THE LI-AL-MG LAYER IN THE BATTERY. PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE FORMATION OF FILMS OF LITHIUM COMPOUNDS ON THE SURFACE OF THE ANODE ARE THUS AVOIDED. |
