abstract | THE PRESENT INVENTION CONCERNS A PROCESS FOR SEPARATION OF HYDROCARBONS BY LIQUID-LIQUID EXTRACTION. THE AROMATIC COMPOUNDS OF A MIXTURE CONTAINING AROMATIC AND PARAFFINIC COMPOUNDS ARE SEPARATED BY PERFORMING A LIQUID-LIQUID EXTRACTION WITH DUN- (2-HYDROXYETHYL) -2-PYRROLIDONE CONTAINING A LOW QUANTITY OF WATER, AT DEFINED TEMPERATURES AND PRESSURES. TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS WITHIN THE SPECIFIED INTERVAL HAVE LITTLE EFFECT ON THE CHARGING CAPACITY AND THE SELECTIVITY OF THE SOLVENT WHICH MAKES IT EASIER TO CONTROL THE PROCESS. THE PROCESS OF THE INVENTION IS FOR EXAMPLE APPLICABLE TO HYDROCARBON MIXTURES CONTAINING A WIDE VARIETY OF AROMATIC AND PARAFFINIC COMPOUNDS. |
