IT IS PREPARED BY TREATMENT OF A MIXTURE OF ACETONE AND AMMONIA ADDITIONED TO A DRIED AND CRUSHED VEGETABLE MATERIAL OR OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM ACETATE OR ANY OTHER DEHYDRATING AGENT, BY ACIDIFYING THE RESIDUE OF THE UPPER PHASE, THEN ALKALINIZATION AND AFTER WASHING WITH NON-APOLAR ORGANIC SOLVENTS, BY DISSOLUTION OF THE RESIDUE IN ACETONE AND PRECIPITATION OF THE PRODUCT IN THE FORM OF ITS HYDROCHLORIDE WHICH IS PURIFIED BY RECRISTALLIZATION. |
