THE PROCESS IS CHARACTERIZED IN PARTICULAR (A) IN THAT THE OLEFINIC CUT IS SUBJECT TO A POLYMERIZATION-DISMUTATION REACTION DURING WHICH THE MAJOR PART OF THE ISOBUTENE TRANSFORMS INTO A GASOLINE CONSTITUTED OF DIMERES, TRIMERS AND TETRAMUTERES , PART OF THIS GASOLINE BEING TRANSFORMED INTO BUTENES AND IN A BASE-TYPE CUP FOR A CARBURETTOR AND (B) IN THAT AT THE END OF THE PREVIOUS STEP, A GASOLINE AND BASE MIXTURE IS ISOLATED ON THE ONE HAND FOR A CARBURETTOR AND A B-CUP BASED ON ISOBUTANE, N-BUTANE, BUTENES AND A LOW RESIDUAL PORTION OF ISOBUTENE, THE SAID CUP B IS SUBJECTED TO A FINISHING POLYMERIZATION TO OBTAIN ON THE ONE HAND A GA CUP BASED OF ISOBUTENE DIMERS AND TRIMERS AND A CUP BASED ON ISOBUTANE, BUTENES AND N-BUTANE, CUP D IS SUBJECTED TO HYDROGENATION AND CUP G IS COMBINED WITH MIXTURE A TO BE HYDROGENIC TOGETHER.
