THEY ESSENTIALLY CONSIST OF A REFRACTORY POWDER OF A MINERAL OXIDE, FOR EXAMPLE OF ALUMINA OR SILICA, A PULVERULENT MINERAL COMPOUND SUITABLE TO EXCHANGE CATIONS AND WITH A LAMINATE STRUCTURE, SUCH AS MICA, AND A SILICATE OR A METAL ALUMINATE ALKALINE AS A BINDER, THE MAXIMUM DIAMETER OF THE PARTICLES OF THE MINERAL MATERIAL WITH A LAMINATE STRUCTURE, IN RELATION TO THE AVERAGE DIAMETER OF THE GRAINS OF THE REFRACTORY POWDER, WHICH IS OF DECISIVE IMPORTANCE. THESE COMPOSITIONS ARE USED FOR COATING METAL ARTICLES OR CERAMIC MATERIALS, AS WELL AS AN ADHESIVE TO BIND METAL ARTICLES, CERAMIC ARTICLES OR A METAL ARTICLE TO A CERAMIC ARTICLE. THE STRENGTH OF THE BOND THEREFORE OBTAINED IS SO STRONG THAT THE APPLIED LAYER DOES NOT SCRATCH OR Peel off, EVEN AFTER MANY REPEATED CYCLES OF QUICK HEATING AND COOLING.
