THIS DEVICE INCLUDES A SURGE ARRESTER HAVING AN EXTERNAL ENCLOSURE 31 WHICH CONTAINS AT LEAST ONE ELECTRODE 35 PROJECTING OUTSIDE OF THE ENCLOSURE. THE EXTERIOR ENCLOSURE 31 IS ARRANGED IN A TUBULAR CONDUCTIVE ELEMENT 37 ELASTICALLY MOVABLE WITH RESPECT TO IT AND IN ELECTRIC CONTACT WITH A POLE OF THE DEVICE, THESE TUBULAR ELEMENT 37 BEEN BASED ON A FUSE ELEMENT 38 AND CAN COME ELASTICALLY, WHEN THE ELEMENT FUSE 38 HAS BLOWN, IN ELECTRICAL CONTACT WITH THE ELECTRODE 35. THE INVENTION ALSO DEALS WITH A PROTECTION ASSEMBLY IMPLEMENTING AT LEAST ONE SURGE PROTECTION DEVICE WITH EXTERNAL SHORT-CIRCUIT.
