THE AQUEOUS ACRYLAMIDE SOLUTION IS PASSED FIRST OVER A STRONGLY BASIC ANION EXCHANGER RESIN IN THE OH FORM, THEN ON A CATION EXCHANGING RESIN IN THE H FORM. THE AQUEOUS ACRYLAMIDE SOLUTION PURIFIED ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION SUITABLE FOR DIRECT USE IN THE PREPARATION OF POLYACRYLAMIDES THEY ARE SUITABLE FOR USE AS FLOCCULANTS.
