titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF O-TRIMETHYLSILYL-CELLULOSES AND NEW PRODUCTS OBTAINED THEREBY
abstract PROCESS FOR PREPARING O-TRIMETHYLSILYL-CELLULOSES PRESENTING A SUBSTITUTION DEGREE OF UP TO 2.0 AND NEW PRODUCTS OBTAINED BY THIS PROCESS. WOOD OR COTTON CELLULOSES ARE INFLATED IN DRY LIQUEFIED AMMONIA, THEN REACT WITH TRIMETHYLCHLOROSILANE, DISSOLVE THE REACTION PRODUCT IN A HIGHLY POLAR APROTONIC SOLVENT AND, IF NECESSARY, TRANSFORMED TO A DRY BY PRECIPITATION. O-TRIMETHYLSILYL-CELLULOSES WITH A DEGREE OF SUBSTITUTION OF UP TO 2.0 ARE NEW PRODUCTS AND, IN CONTRARY TO PREVIOUS PRODUCTS OF THE SAME TYPE WITH A HIGHER DS, THEY ARE SOLUBLE IN POLAR SOLVENTS, WHICH ALLOWS THIS SPINNING.
