THE INVENTION CONCERNS A CATALYST FOR THE HYDROTREATMENT OF HEAVY HYDROCARBONOUS OILS, COMPRISING A POROUS SUPPORT MADE FROM ONE OR MORE OXIDE MINERALS OF ELEMENTS OF GROUPS II, III AND IV OF THE PERIODIC CLASSIFICATION ASSOCIATED WITH APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 30 COMPONENT IN WEIGHT. METAL CATALYTIC TO METAL OF GROUPS VB, VIB, VIII AND 1B OF THE PERIODIC CLASSIFICATION, THE CHARACTERISTICS OF PORES WITH A DIAMETER OF 75A OR MORE OF THE CATALYST BEING DETERMINED.
