abstract A method of bleaching and extracting lignocellulose-containing material is provided, using bleaches containing peroxide in an acidic environment to remove lignin. At least one step of the bleaching process comprises treating the lignocellulose-containing material with a bleaching agent containing peroxide at a pH of -2 to 7 in the presence of 0.01 to 5 g / l of an organic complexing agent or mineral. This treatment is followed immediately, without intermediate washing, by an alkaline extraction of the soluble lignin.
