titleOfInvention MOLDABLE THERMOSETTING POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING MATURATION
abstract The present invention relates to an improved molding composition of thermosetting, cured polyester resin. This composition comprises at least two different polyester resins, one of which has a higher reactivity and contains a small amount of isophthalic acid while the other is less reactive and does not contain such an acid, this composition also comprising fibers of reinforcement and an inert filler together with an organic polyisocyanate, a metal oxide or hydroxide, an aliphatically unsaturated monomer, a free radical polymerization catalyst and an internal mold release agent. This moldable composition is particularly useful for the pressure molding of articles of precise shapes and sizes exhibiting greatly increased impact resistance and flexibility.
