abstract Process for the simultaneous preparation of alpha, omega-dialdehyde and alpha omega-diacid with olefinic or saturated unsaturation. The monoozonide is treated with a mono- or polyunsaturated cycloolefin dissolved in a polar solvent, with water and then with an alkaline aqueous solution at ordinary pressure and at a temperature of - 5 degrees C to 70 degrees C in maintaining during the addition of the alkali a pH not exceeding 12 and then isolating according to known conventional methods the dialdehyde and the diacid produced.
