PROCESS CHARACTERIZED IN THAT IT CONSISTS OF MIXING A SATURATED SOLUTION OF METAL CHLORIDE WITH PHOSPHORIC ACID OR ALKALINE PHOSPHATES OR CARBONATES, TO ADJUST THE PH TO APPROXIMATELY 10 TO PRECIPITATE THE NON-MONOVALENT CATIONS, TO KEEP AT 2P THE CHLORIDE CONCENTRATION OF THE SOLUTION BY PASSING IT THROUGH A CATION EXCHANGER 103 TO PASS THE SOLUTION THROUGH THE ANODE COMPARTMENTS MAINTAINING THE PH AT APPROXIMATELY 2 BY THE HYDROCHLORIC ACID PRODUCED IN THE SYSTEM, THE CONCENTRATION OF ALKALINE HYDROXIDE AT APPROXIMATELY 8 AND THE TEMPERATURE AT APPROXIMATELY 70C, TO RECOVER CHLORINE AND TO RESTORE AND RECYCLE LIQUID CHLORINE.
