THESE FUROCOUMARINS ARE CONSTITUTED BY AN ANGELICINE MODIFIED BY THE INTRODUCTION OF ALKYL GROUPS. FUROCOUMARINS ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION ARE USED IN PHOTOCHEMOTHERAPY OF PSORIASIS AND OTHER SKIN DISEASES CHARACTERIZED BY CELLULAR HYPERPROLIFERATION. IN THIS FIELD OF APPLICATION, FUROCOUMARINS ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION PRESENT A LOWER RISK OF SKIN CANCER IN RELATION TO PSORALENS, THEY ARE COMPLETELY FREE OF PHOTOTOXIC EFFECTS AND THUS PREVENT THE PATIENT FROM ERITHEMA; THEY CAN BE EASILY USED TOPICALLY, THUS AVOIDING THE HAZARD OF CATARACT AND HEPATOTOXICITY.
