THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR OBTAINING SILANIC DERIVATIVES OF SEPIOLITE BY REACTION WITH ALCOXY-SILANES, IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE STRENGTHENING POWER IN POLYMERS. ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, THE REACTION IS CARRIED OUT BY PLACING INTIMATE CONTACT THE FINALLY SUBDIVIDED SEPIOLITE AND THE ALCOXY-SILANE, EITHER BY VAPORIZATION OF THE LATTER BY ACTION OF HEAT OR BY ITS ATOMIZATION WITH NITROGEN, BY MAKING THE CONTACT COUNTERCURRENT IN A COLUMN OF APPROPRIATE DIMENSIONS WITH A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND THAT OF VAPORIZATION OF THE ALCOXY-SILANE; THE SILANIC DERIVATIVE OF SEPIOLITE IS THEN DRY AT 110C FOR THE ELIMINATION OF REACTION BY-PRODUCTS. THE INVENTION APPLIES IN PARTICULAR TO TREATMENT OF POLYMERS. |
