abstract THE INVENTION CONCERNS A PROCESS AND A DEVICE FOR REGULATING THE OPERATION OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FILTER THROUGH A FLUID CHARGED WITH FERROMAGNETIC PARTICLES. THE FILTER WINDING IS SUPPLIED BY A CONTINUOUS CURRENT OF LOWER INTENSITY THAN THE INTENSITY OF THE PACKING SATURATION CURRENT, SO THAT THE INTENSITY OF THIS CURRENT CAN BE INCREASED WHEN MEASURING THE FILTER PRESSURE DROP, THE FLUID FLOW SPEED AND THE TEMPERATURE OF THIS FLUID INDICATE THAT THE EFFICIENCY OF THE FILTER IS LESS THAN A GIVEN LEVEL. AN ALARM DEVICE IS TRIPPED WHEN THE CURRENT INTENSITY REACHES A MAXIMUM VALUE INDICATING THAT THE FILTER MUST BE DISCOLMATED. APPLICATION IN PARTICULAR TO THE FILTRATION OF WATER IN THE PRIMARY CIRCUIT OF PRESSURIZED WATER NUCLEAR REACTORS.
