THE INVENTION CONCERNS THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY. IT IS A NEW DERIVATIVE OF VITAMIN D, KNOWING 24,24-DIFLUORO-25-HYDROXYCHOLECALCIFEROL. THIS COMPOUND HAS VITAMINOID ACTIVITY D BY ITS CAPACITY TO INCREASE THE INTESTINAL TRANSPORT OF CALCIUM, TO RAISE THE CONCENTRATION OF SERUM IN CALCIUM AND INORGANIC PHOSPHORUS AND TO PREVENT THE APPEARANCE OF RACHITISM. THIS COMPOUND IS PREFERRED TO REPLACE VITAMIN D IN THE TREATMENT OF AFFECTIONS WHERE A CALCIUM-PHOSPHORUS IMBALANCE IS EXPRESSED AND ON WHICH TREATMENT WITH VITAMIN D IS INOPERABLE. |
