ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, A COMPLEX BASIC CUPRO-AMMONIACAL CHROMATE IS FORMED BY PRECIPITATION BY ADDING A HYDROXIDE TO A SOLUTION OF A COPPER SALT AND A CHROMIUM SALT UNTIL THE SOLUTION HAS A PH OF BETWEEN 7 AND 7.5, THE FORMED COMPLEX IS HEATED UNTIL DECOMPOSITION OF THE COMPLEX HAS TAKEN PLACE AND THE COMPLEX IS KEEPED IN THE COURSE OF DECOMPOSITION AT A TEMPERATURE NEAR 300C OR LESS UNTIL THE DECOMPOSITION IS COMPLETED. APPLICATIONS: REDUCTION OF UNSATURATED ALDEHYDES IN ALCOHOLS, ESPECIALLY FURFURAL IN FURFURYL ALCOHOL. |
