THIS PROCESS CONSISTS OF PUTTING A POROUS MINERAL CATALYST SUPPORT MATERIAL IN CONTACT WITH AN IMPREGNATION SOLUTION COMPRISING: A. A SILVER SALT; B. AN AMINE REDUCING SOLUBILIZING AGENT; C. A CESIUM OR RUBIDIUM PERCHLORATE OR THEIR MIXTURE; D. AN AQUEOUS SOLVENT; AND E. PERCHLORIC ACID, PERIODIC, PERBROMIC, OR A MIXTURE THEREOF, IN THE PROPORTION OF 0 TO 20 MILLIEQUIVALENTS-GRAM PER MILLIEQUIVALENT-GRAM OF PERCHLORATE IN THIS SOLUTION; ETA HEAT THE IMPREGNATED SUPPORT TO A TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 50 TO 300C TO EVAPORATE THE VOLATILE MATERIALS AND ACTIVATE THE CATALYST. APPLICATION TO THE VAPOR EPOXIDATION OF ETHYLENE. |
