A CESIUM OR RUBIDIUM PERCHLORATE OR THEIR MIXTURE; D. AN AQUEOUS SOLVENT; AND E. PERCHLORIC ACID, PERIODIC, PERBROMIC, OR A MIXTURE THEREOF, IN THE PROPORTION OF 0 TO 20 MILLIEQUIVALENTS-GRAM PER MILLIEQUIVALENT-GRAM OF PERCHLORATE IN THIS SOLUTION; ETA HEAT THE IMPREGNATED SUPPORT TO A TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 50 TO 300C TO EVAPORATE THE VOLATILE MATERIALS AND ACTIVATE THE CATALYST. APPLICATION TO THE VAPOR EPOXIDATION OF ETHYLENE.
