titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR TREATING CELLULOSIC MATERIALS AND OBTAINING GLUCOSE FROM THESE MATERIALS
abstract The cellulose is recovered by treating the cellulosic materials to remove the hemicellulose, then dissolving the cellulose materials in a solvent, after which the lignin is removed and then the cellulose is precipitated from the remaining solution. The cellulose can be recovered in the form of sheets or long threads, fibers or else in the form of a flocculate, and it can then be hydrolyzed into glucose by subjecting it to the action of a cellulose enzyme and / or an acid. Glucose can also be obtained by hydrolyzing cellulosic materials which have been dissolved in a solvent and then separating the lignin from the glucose.
