THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR CONVERTING AMMONIUM IMIDODISULPHATE AND OR AMMONIUM DITHIONATE INTO SULFUR AND AMMONIA DIOXIDE. THE PROCESS CONSISTS OF CONTACTING THE AMMONIUM SALT (S) WITH A MIXTURE OF AMMONIUM BISULPHATE AND MELTED AMMONIUM SULPHATE IN THE PRESENCE OF A SULPHIDE REDUCING AGENT AND OR A CATALYST CONTAINING METALS . THE INVENTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE TREATMENT OF SOLUTIONS COMING FROM THE SIMULTANEOUS ABSORPTION OF NITROGEN OXIDES AND SULFUR DIOXIDE OR OF SOLUTIONS CONTAINING THE SAID SALTS OBTAINED FOR EXAMPLE BY SYNTHESIS. |
