Primer compositions formed from fluoropolymer. These compositions comprise a copolymer of ethylene and a halogenated comonomer selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene, chlorotrifluoroethylene, and mixtures thereof, and from 0 to 10 mol% of an additional monomer selected from the group consisting of component of 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-trifluoromethylpropene, of a vinyl monomer which is free from telogen activity and which provides a side chain having at least 2 carbon atoms, which side chain is aromatic or has its elements linked by a single bond only, or mixtures thereof, and containing about 5 to 60% by weight (based on the total composition) of an epoxy resin and about 1 to 25% by weight (based on the total composition) d 'an oxide of cobalt, nickel, manganese, tungsten or mixtures thereof. The present invention is particularly useful for providing compositions employed as a coating of primers for substrates, such as metals. |
