titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING CYCLOPENTENE AND OTHER CYCLIC OLEFINS AND DIOLEFINICS
abstract The subject of the invention is a process for preparing polymers and copolymers of cyclopentene, characterized in that it consists in polymerizing cyclopentene or a mixture of cyclopentene with at least one unsaturated alicyclic compound chosen from unconjugated unsaturated alicyclic compounds containing at least 7 carbon atoms in the ring and at least one double bond in the ring, subjecting the cyclopentene or the mixture thereof with other monomers to polymerization conditions in the presence of a composite catalyst comprising: A a salt of a transition metal selected from tungsten halides and oxygalides; B. an organo-aluminum compound; C. at least one hydroxylic compound of general formula ROH in which R represents an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl or aryl radical; and D. a halogenated phenol chosen from pentachlorophenol, pentabromophenol or a phenol of general formula:
