abstract | Process for preparing ubiquinones-10, -9 and -8 from fermentation broths of Gram-negative bacteria, and in particular ubiquinone-10 from fermentation broths of strains of Xanthomonas stewartii, which consists, after having cultured the ubiquinone-producing bacteria for 7-24 hours in a medium and known culture conditions, and having separated the bacteria by centrifugation or filtration, to isolate the ubiquinone by a method comprising the following steps: a. dehydration by washing with hydrophilic solvents or preferably by atomization; b. extraction of the dehydrated pellet with a solvent such as acetone or a lower alcohol; vs. purification of the extracts after concentration. |
