titleOfInvention PREPARATION OF A SEMI-PERMEABLE COMPOSITE MEMBRANE
abstract The invention relates to a method of manufacturing semi-permeable membranes. A specified imidazolone polymer is dissolved in an aqueous medium containing a water-miscible amine having a pKa greater than 5, at a polymer concentration of up to 20%, and a microporous substrate is covered with a layer of this solution, which is dried to form on the substrate an ultra-thin film of the polymeric material. These membranes can be used in particular as dialysis membranes and for the purification of water, for example for the treatment of salt water, by reverse osmosis.
