The invention relates to a process for the production of low-fuel acrylonitrile polymers or of moldings formed therefrom, by reacting an acrylonitrile polymer in an organic solvent with a hydroxylamine salt and a base. or with free hydroxylamine at a temperature of at least 50 degrees C for a period of at least 10 minutes, followed by acid treatment. Optionally, the material thus produced can be complexed with a metal salt. |
