titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF NAPHTHALENE-1,3,6-TRISULFONIC ACID BY SULPHONATION OF NAPHTHALENE USING SULFURIC ACID AND OLEUM |
abstract | Simultaneously introduced naphthalene and part of the oleum, most of the total amount of oleum used, at a temperature of 140 to 240 degrees C in sulfuric acid or oleum at low concentration, the temperature is maintained for some time between 140 and 240 degrees C, the remainder of oleum is added at a temperature of 140 to 240 degrees C and stirred for some time at this temperature level. This process gives better yields and consumes less energy than the processes of the prior art. |
